Moon Dust™ Replacing GH Line

Many of you may have noticed we have switched from the GH product line (Koolbloom, FloraNova, and Floralicious) to our new Moon Dust™ line.  This is for several reason, but mainly we were receiving customer surveys and tech concerns about the thickness of the formula, and it's potential for gumming up the drip lines.  We've spent the past several years working on our own plant nutrient, that will outperform anything in the market.  We've finally finished our research and development and come up with Moon Dust™, which is a simple one part formula that contains almost every beneficial additive on the market in a properly chelated form.  General Hydroponics makes a great product, and we will continue to carry their entire line.  However; we anticipate this switch will provide better customer satisfaction, bigger results, and all at a lower replacement cost.  Once again....if you tell us...we LISTEN and GROW WITH OUR CUSTOMERS!

Giant Vegetable Garden

As many of you know, the owner of the company is working on a book called "How To Grow World Record Vegetables".  Below are some of the mid-season pictures of his garden. All of the vegetables grown were fed exclusively our new all in one plant nutrient: "Moon Dust".  We will be selling this nutrient within the next 2 weeks, and it will be the newest addition to our turn-key cabinet line. 

The plants from top left to right are turnip (normally the size of a tennis ball), giant chard (normally the size of small lettuce), giant cabbage (normally the size of a large softball), giant corn/sunflowers (normally 5-6 ft tall, instead of 12-16), giant amaranth (normally 2 feet tall, instead of 20+ft.), and a giant beet (normally the size of a baseball).

Facility Overhaul Updates

Well we've finally tackled some important facility upgrades, and here is a recent picture of 1/2 of our team.  We just painted and installed a very extensive steel racking system, resealed our floors with fork truck friendly epoxy, and performed countless tooling upgrades.  Now that we've ripped our building apart from the ground up, we should be better able to serve our ever expanding product demands. Outdoor Garden Pics

Since a few people have asked for our "Gardening Credentials", I am posting some pictures of my backyard garden this year. The pumpkin plant was from a 940lb. monster last year, and I'm hoping to break the 1,000lb. mark this year. The tomato plants are growing over 2 inches a day on average, and should reach over 20ft. tall by the end of the growing season. If you look closely you can see they are over 12ft. tall with still a few months left to go. I have heads of broccoli as big as a mans head, and over 40lbs. harvested from only 7 plants.  I am located in Buffalo, NY, which has a relatively short and cool growing season.  During the past 2 years and continuing in the future we have been working on a 'world class' nutrient worthy of our company logo.  Look for it in years to come!

Auto-Fill Valves Added To Turn-Key Systems

Many customers have requested larger watering capacities for their hydroponic reservoirs, and easier access to the nutrients and water in their reservoir.  We have your answer with our new auto-fill system.  There is an automated float that sits inside the hydroponic reservoir, which allows for automated filling from a  one gallon reserve on the rear of your system.  Now you can simply add water, nutrients, etc. to your reserve station and it will automatically keep your hydroponic system at the right water level ALL the time! This system comes as STANDARD on every turn-key unit, except the PC Planter (which is far too small for such a device).

Retail Outlet Opens In Niagara Falls, NY (March 1st, 2005)

By popular customer demand, we've finally opened a retail outlet. For those looking to do pickups our store hours are 10am to 9pm mon-fri and sunday 11am-6pm.  Please call 24-48hrs ahead to be sure we have the item you wish to pickup in stock.  Our new 7,000  sq. ft. facility will help us meet the growing demand for our product line, and offer the Niagara region its newest hydroponic outlet. With the addition of a HUGE array of products we also have leaping jet water shows in our 3,000+ gallon indoor lake. 

Buffalo Home & Garden Show (Feb 28th-Mar 6th, 2005)

As if opening a retail store during the busiest time of the year wasn't enough, we opted to join the local home and garden show.  It's truly amazing just how many people haven't heard of hydroponics or indoor gardening. Well, we were there to help educate the young and older alike.

Maximum Yield Show In San Diego Aug 20-22

This was a terrific show, and our success was only limited by the number of products on hand.  We sold everything on the floor, plus took countless additional orders. California is truly a great state and represents a large % of the hydroponic industry.  We look forward to attending the Max. Yield show in Montreal in October of 2004.

     This was our first year attending the Hydroponic Member Association annual meeting and trade show. Our arrival and attendance was met with a warm welcome from the seasoned veterans of the industry, and we look forward to expanding into a variety of retail outlets.
